As the much-anticipated Test series between India and Bangladesh approaches, Team India’s star players are giving their all in a rigorous training camp held in the intense heat of Chennai. Kicking off on September 13, the camp serves as a vital preparation phase leading to the opening match on September 19. Organised in a media-free environment, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released snapshots after two days of training, showcasing the players, including captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja, in top form and looking eager to make a mark in the upcoming series.
Intensive Training in Chennai
The training camp is taking place at the iconic Chepauk Stadium, where the focus is on intensive practice to fine-tune skills and strategies. The camp also features net bowlers supporting the main team in their preparations.

BCCI shared a video on their social media platforms capturing the players in action. The most exciting moments featured sensational shots from Virat Kohli, who returned to the field after a month break. Stellar Preparations for a Competitive Series
In a report from PTI, it was noted that Virat Kohli put in about 45 minutes of intense batting on the first day, confidently facing a range of bowlers. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, returning to the squad after the T20 World Cup final, demonstrated his speed and precision, reinforcing his position as a key asset for the team. With Bangladesh showcasing formidable performance on their recent tour to Pakistan, Team India is meticulously preparing to counter their bowling attack.
Strategic Measures Against Bangladeshi Bowlers
To tackle the challenge posed by Bangladesh’s tall pacer Nahid Rana, who recently made his debut, Team India has called upon a 6’5″ fast bowler, Gurnur from Punjab, to bolster their training. Additionally, to enhance their spin strategy, Mumbai’s Himanshu Singh is also lending his expertise to the preparation efforts. The upcoming series promises to be a competitive affair as India gears up to display their best game from September 19 in Chennai.
