Chiyaan Vikram is back on the big screen with his latest film Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2. The movie was released nationwide on 27th March, and the earnings were decent. Veera Dheera Sooran Shows Cancellation
The box office numbers took a hit because of the morning show cancellations in several Indian and international theatres. Newsbytes, a media channel, reported that the Delhi High Court has blocked the screening of morning shows in several theatres till 10:30 a.m., and many theatres in North America followed the same. Moviehouse franchises like Multiplex, Cinepolis, and PVR did not project Veera Dheera Sooran on their screens until 11 a.m.
Veera Dheera Sooran Lawsuit
According to reports, the film’s producer, Riya Shibu, violated B4U’s contracts that required selling the OTT rights before theatrical release. Ivy Entertainment claimed that the producers also violated other terms regarding literary rights, music rights, and North Indian language rights mentioned in the contract.
The Delhi High Court ordered Riya Shibu to compensate the entertainment company; it held off screening of the movie till 11 a.m. Sun News reported that she was asked to pay Rs. 7 crore and file all the case-related documents within 48 hours. Once the issue was resolved, the ban on Veera Dheera Sooran was lifted, and the movie made it onto the screens.
The director, Arun Kumar, apologized to his fans and followers on social media and thanked them for their patience.
About Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2
Although the title says part 2, it is the first installment in the movie franchise. The story in the next part is a prequel, making the first volume part 2. The movie follows a father and a husband named Kaali. On the surface, he looks like a modest store owner, but his connections with the crime network and his mysterious mission shape the film.
Directed by Arun Kumar and produced by Riya Shibu under HR Pictures, the movie casts Vikram, Dushara Vijayan, SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Dushara Vijayan and Siddique in Key roles.
