Tata Power Share Price Shoot Up 4% After 200MW Deal With NTPC, Check Recommendation on Buy or Sell

Today, on 15th April 2025, the Tata Power Company witnessed a 4% spike in its share prices. The surge followed a deal between NTPC and Tata Power’s Tata Power Renewable Energy. 

The deal is worth approximately Rs. 4,500 crore and has a deadline of 24 months. The project is committed to a 4-hour peak power supply, maintaining at least 90% availability during high-traffic hours and providing for and fulfilling the growing energy needs of distribution companies.

The project reportedly reduces more than 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions yearly and produces over 1,300 million units (MUs) of energy annually. Tata Power Renewable Energy would complete the project using BESS (Battery Energy Storage System), wind, and solar technologies.

Today, Tata Power’s shares opened to the market at Rs. 375.00, a hike from the previous close of Rs. 364.45.  At 11:50 a.m., Tata Power’s share price was Rs. 377.95, nearly 3.07% higher than its previous close. According to the reports and estimates on Money Control, the current market capitalization shows 120,656 cores; the UC Limit is 400.85, and the LC Limit is 328.00.

Company Financials

On 4th February 2025, Tata Power published its third-quarter financial results. According to the disclosed data, the company’s operating revenue grew 5% year over year to Rs. 15,391 crore in FY25, up from Rs. 14,651 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.  Additionally, they recorded an 8% increase in net profits: Rs. 1,031 crore in FY 2025 as opposed to Rs. 953 crore in FY 2024.
