Ola Electric Launches Dedicated Team to Enhance Customer Satisfaction

Ola Electric Faces Service Challenges Amidst Growing Sales

Ola Electric, a leader in the electric two-wheeler market, is grappling with a surge in service-related complaints from its customers. With an alarming influx of approximately 80,000 monthly complaints, the company’s service centers are under tremendous pressure. Disturbingly, reports indicate that on some days, these complaints can reach as high as 7,000. This situation has reportedly escalated to the extent that one disgruntled customer even set a showroom ablaze due to dissatisfaction with the service.

Concerns Over Service Quality

The high volume of complaints primarily stems from issues with the company’s electric scooters, leading to extended wait times for service. This prolonged delay has fostered frustration among customers, prompting Ola Electric to establish a dedicated service team aimed at addressing these concerns promptly.

Launch of the Roadster Electric Motorcycle Series

Despite the service challenges, Ola Electric has been making waves in the market with the launch of its new electric motorcycle series, the Roadster. Unveiled on Independence Day, this series includes notable models such as the Roadster, Roadster Pro, and Roadster X. The base variant, Roadster X, is priced at Rs 74,999 and boasts a 2.5 kWh battery pack, achieving speeds of 0-40 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of around 124 km/h. It also claims an impressive range of approximately 200 kilometers on a single charge, complemented by a user-friendly 4.3-inch touchscreen.

Market Growth of Electric Two-Wheelers

The electric two-wheeler segment is witnessing rapid growth in India, with projections suggesting it could capture around 13% of total two-wheeler sales by the financial year 2026-27. This is a significant increase from a mere 5% in the previous year, reflecting a burgeoning interest in electric vehicles. Notably, just four years ago, the market share for electric two-wheelers was limited to only 0.4%.

Incentives and Market Dynamics

However, recent reductions in government incentives have left this segment fluctuating between 4% and 7% over the past two years. This dynamic poses challenges for manufacturers, necessitating strategic adjustments to continue capitalizing on the growing consumer interest in electric two-wheelers.

As Ola Electric strengthens its service team and enhances its offerings, it remains crucial for the company to address these service challenges effectively while leveraging the opportunities presented by the expanding electric vehicle market.
