L2 Empuraan Right Wing Politics Controversy
The political thriller hit a little too close to home, and politics enthusiasts and BJP followers were not impressed by Empuraan’s depictions of them. The movie, according to reports, has right-wing politics and references to the Gujarat riots of 2002, and it has generated controversy. Critics, especially from Organiser, an RSS branch, said that the movie was anti-BJP and misrepresented history. While opposition parties supported artistic freedom, BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar attacked the movie.
Mohanlal apologized in response to criticism, and the directors changed sensitive material and riot scenes in 17 cuts. Kerala’s education minister also commented on the controversy and said that movies have the right to represent historical events in films. This controversy and different perspectives have triggered debates about censorship and how far a movie can be allowed to go in the name of artistic expression.
L2 Empuraan Creating New Records
New releases like Salman Khan’s Sikander and Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran don’t look like obstacles in Empuraan’s path. The movie is just zooming by, surpassing all-time bests and stamping its mark in every direction.
According to the movie tracker Sachnilk, today, Day 5, Empuraan already reported 0.44 crores. It is the fastest Malayalam movie to ever reach the 60 crore mark in just four days, and it’s the first Malayalam film to have an opening day that brings more than 10 crores. The Lucifer trilogy has earned its grand place in 2025’s Best Hits.
