Kidnapping Allegations Against Ajit Prasad: A Land Deal Dispute Escalates

UP News: A serious case of kidnapping, threats, and assault has emerged involving Ajit Prasad, the son of Avdhesh Prasad, a prominent MP from the Samajwadi Party in Ayodhya. The allegations stem from a commission dispute linked to a land deal made by Rohit Tiwari, who has officially lodged a police report at Kotwali Nagar.

Details of the Incident

Rohit Tiwari’s complaint led to the registration of an FIR naming Ajit Prasad along with three others – Raju Yadav, Srikant Rai – and about 15 unidentified individuals. Ajit Prasad is currently eyeing the position of candidate for the Milkipur assembly by-election under the banner of the Samajwadi Party. Tiwari has alleged that he was threatened with violence by the MP’s son and his associates. The Ayodhya police have initiated an investigation into the case.

Political Fallout

The incident has drawn significant political attention, with BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya criticizing the Samajwadi Party on social media. Malviya stated, “Faizabad MP Avadhesh Prasad, whom Akhilesh Yadav is currently supporting, has a son, Ajit Prasad, who allegedly kidnapped and assaulted Ravi Tiwari. With the recent success of the SP in elections, incidents of violence and intimidation seem to be increasing. There’s a saying in Uttar Pradesh: ‘The vehicle with the SP flag has a goon inside it.’ This incident further substantiates that claim.”

The Victim’s Perspective

According to further reports from ABP News, the victim, Ravi Tiwari, resides in Palia Tiwari, within the jurisdiction of the Purakalandar police station. Tiwari alleges he was instrumental in mediating a land transfer involving Shitla Prasad, a local resident, which was registered in favor of Ajit Prasad and Lal Bahadur. Tiwari claims he received a cheque for ₹1 lakh from Ajit Prasad as part of the deal.

Allegations of Violence

On September 21, Tiwari stated that while he was near the SBI Bank in Civil Lines, he was approached by Ajit Prasad, who arrived in an SUV accompanied by supporter Raju Yadav and 10 to 15 others. Tiwari asserts that he was forcibly taken into the vehicle, where he was assaulted before being abandoned near the tehsil area. Furthermore, the individuals allegedly confiscated the ₹1 lakh cheque that had been issued to him.

Police Investigation

The police are currently questioning the victim and probing into the details of the incident. Tiwari has also claimed that the accused recorded a video of the incident, which involved taking back the money. He states that he has received dire threats against his life from Ajit Prasad.

Conclusion

This alarming case reflects the entanglement of politics and criminal activities, raising concerns about the safety and integrity of individuals involved in land transactions in the region. As investigations continue, the political implications and public sentiment are likely to shape the narrative around this incident.
