Saturday and Sunday earned a total of Rs. 15.30 Crores, making 26th and 27th the best performing weekend and for Kesari and 27th the day of highest collections. Reports say that Kesari 2 was made on a budget of 100 crores. Suppose the movie gathers more momentum and continues to attract a bigger audience simultaneously. In that case, it won’t be long before Kesari reaches 100 crores. Before that benchmark, many are eager to see if the historical film can reach 75 crores this week.
About Kesari: Story and Cast
Unlike initial expectations, Kesari 2 is not a sequel to Kesari 1, released in 2019. Kesari is the franchise title containing movies with a patriotic soul that uncover hidden history. So far, Akshay Kumar confirmed he will star in the entire franchise, and he also stated that the third part is under construction.
Karan Singh Tyagi directed the film inspired by the book The Case That Shook The Empire, written by Raghu and Pushpa Palat. The book details the struggles of the Malayali lawyer, C. Sankaran Nair, one of the many lesser-known fighters who fought for justice for the victims of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. The movie shows the struggles of the lawyer, the ugly truths of the Colonial British Empire, and their efforts to bury the truth.
