Inside Octomom Nadya Suleman’s Life Raising 14 Kids

Finding Strength for Her Children

In a heartfelt discussion about her journey as a mother, she expressed how vital it has been for her to “stay strong” for her children amid the challenges of life. She openly acknowledges her past, particularly her days as “Octomom,” and emphasizes the importance of honesty with her kids. “I’ve told them I’ve done some very bad and shameful things, and they respond, ‘It’s okay, Mom, we love you anyway and we’ll always love you,’” she shared. This open line of communication showcases the strength of their bond.

Deep Conversations with Her Kids

Raising her children has involved more than just parent-child dialogues; she emphasizes that their conversations delve into profound topics. “We don’t have kid conversations; we have deep and intellectual conversations about all of this. They are so smart and so aware,” she remarked, highlighting her children’s emotional intelligence and awareness of the world around them.

A Structured Life Dedicated to Family

Hailing from Fullerton, California, she equipped herself for motherhood by completing a bachelor’s degree in child development, later working as a family counselor. Her commitment to her children’s well-being is evident in her meticulously structured daily routine. A typical day begins at 5 a.m. with a morning school run that includes four stops. Afterward, she dedicates her time to work, picks the children up in the afternoon, prepares dinner, and bathes the younger kids in pairs before finally heading to bed around midnight. The only indulgence in her week is a cherished two-hour nap.

Raising Compassionate Kids

In 2016, she adopted a vegan lifestyle and encouraged her children to embrace this compassionate approach to living as well. This decision was driven by her desire to raise them to be aware and empathetic toward all living beings. As she transitioned her family to this lifestyle, she reflected on her values and instilled them in her children. In recent years, she has transformed the traditional celebration of Thanksgiving into a new family tradition, honoring her heritage and her values by celebrating Native American Heritage Day with a meat-free dinner, showcasing the culinary talents of her children: Jonah, Nariyah, Noah, and Jeremiah.
