Amazon India’s Great Indian Festival 2025 has kicked off on a high note. In just 48 hours, the platform recorded an incredible 38 crore customer visits. Shoppers from big metros and small towns alike rushed online, making this the most successful start to any Amazon sale so far.
Huge Response from Across India
Over 70% of all visits came from outside the top nine metro cities. This shows the growing popularity of online shopping even in remote areas. With big savings, GST benefits, and new launches, people everywhere joined the festival sales. Amazon’s special #GSTBachatUtsav gave extra discounts on electronics, daily essentials, healthcare, fashion, and more.
Smartphones Lead the Sales Rush
Smartphones were a top pick this year. Sales of phones above ₹20,000 jumped by 50% compared to last year. Premium TVs, laptops, and appliances also witnessed record demand. Brands like Apple, Samsung, OnePlus, Sony, and HP offered their best deals, pulling in crowds from all age groups. Amazon launched over 30,000 new products across categories, attracting buyers looking for the latest technology and trends.
Prime Members and Fast Deliveries
Prime members enjoyed early access and faster deliveries, with more than 80 lakh products reaching customers within two days. Over 30 lakh orders in metro cities were delivered on the same or next day, setting new records for quick service. Amazon also reported a surge in bulk business purchases, with new sign-ups multiplying six times over regular days.
Sellers, Small Businesses Shine
Lakhs of sellers, including artisans and small businesses, benefitted from the huge festival rush. Over 16,000 small sellers tripled their daily sales. Amazon’s support helped many expand their reach and hire more local talent. For some, the first two days of the sale were truly transformative, with up to seven times the average day’s sales being recorded.
Digital Payments and Amazon Pay Boom
Digital payments saw a big jump too. One in four customers used Amazon Pay, saving over ₹260 crore with bank card and EMI offers. UPI usage increased by 18% from last year, showing India’s fast shift towards cashless shopping.
