Chhorii 2: Nushrratt Bharuccha’s Chhorii 2 is out on Prime Video today, and the movie is nothing short of bone-chilling. Unlike Bollywood’s usual horror films, Chhorri will leave you with more questions than answers, and we mean it in a good way. The first part planted the seeds of awareness of the evils of patriarchal systems and superstitions that still live in the wild and remote cultures of India. These superstitions and nefarious systems transformed into traditions and continue to prey upon innocent women and girls.
Chhorii 2 Storyline
Chhorii 2 piggybacks on these awarenesses and the characters to present a more diabolical side of these traditions that will leave your stomach heavy. The film centers around a mother and a daughter- Sakshi and Ishani. Ishani is allergic to sunlight and lives with her mother, Sakshi, in a well-protected dark house with a police officer, Samar. The seemingly protected lives of Sakshi and Ishani shatter when Ishani is tempted by an evil cult that lives underground. Sakshi makes herself miserable in search of her daughter, and she finally finds the cult.
In the journey, Sakshi learns about the dark traditions the cult is rooted in and braces herself to fight for survival. What Sakshi learns about the culture hits eerily close to the societal evils and norms that families follow religiously to this date. The suffocation Sakshi feels in the village symbolizes how trapped and isolated we are from the truth. It shows the puppeteers’ ability to prevent us from picking up the courage to question society and the foundation it was built on.
Chhorri 2 forces us to question our beliefs, compels us to be curious about reasons, traditions, right and wrong, and drives us to a deeper understanding of society and its messy intricacies.

Chhorii 2 Reviews
Although people loved the thought Vishal Furia put into it, people say he didn’t carry the weight of the hype until the end. The cinematography, background, eeriness and horror factor go hand in hand. Still, the story’s impact fades away and falls short of expectations. Reports say that Chhorii 2’s climax felt forced and fast-paced, and wished the director presented a well-put-together ending instead of scattering the movie’s elements.
Reviews say that actors Nushrratt Bharuccha and Soha Ali Khan lived their roles and made Chhorii 2 more bone-chilling than one imagined.
