BEL Shares Price Dips 5%, FY 25 Order Inflow Target Falls Short! Should You Buy Or Sell?

Today, on 2nd April 2025, the share price of Bharat Electronic Limited or BEL Share Price plummeted by 5%. The company couldn’t reach the predicted order inflow target, so analysts believe the shortcoming could have triggered investors’ bearish sentiment towards the company, resulting in a stock drop.

BEL reported a turnover of Rs. 23,000 Crores for FY 2024-25, indicating a 16% increase YoY. However, the company initially projected a target of Rs.25,00 crores; the 2000 crores shortfall raises concerns about the future growth of the defense firm and its long-term performances. 

Today, BEL’s shares opened to the market at Rs. 289.90 and are currently down by 3%% compared to the previous session’s closing rate of Rs. 292.00. BEL shares recorded a day-low of 274.45, indicating a 5% fall from the opening rate and 6% fall from the last close. 

BEL Share Price in Today’s Market

At 11:40 a.m., BEL’s share price was 280.41, nearly 3% higher/lower than the opening rate. And 4% lower than its previous close. According to the reports and estimates on Money Control, the current market capitalization shows 204,893 cores; the UC Limit is 321.20, and the LC Limit is 262.80.

Company Financials

In the third quarter of FY 2024-25, BEL recorded a Profit After Tax of Rs. 1,316.06 crore. This reflects a 47.3% growth compared to last year’s third-quarter PAT of Rs. 893.30 crore. The revenue from operations stood at Rs. 5,770.69 crores, a 38.6% increase from Rs. 4,162.16 crores in the last Q3.

  • BEL gained a contract worth Rs. 2,463 crore to supply Ashwini Radars to the Indian Air Force. The radars will be developed with the Defence Research and Development Organisation.
  • This order increased BEL’s total inflow for the fiscal year to ₹17,030 crores. ​
  • BEL also received orders worth 843 crores, further strengthening its order book.

According to Trendlyne’s expert reports, Bharat Electronics Ltd. has an average target of 341.57. The consensus speculated an upside of 21.75% from the last price of 280.55.
