About the Film Maa
Ambika and her daughter Shweta visit their old village house after Ambika’s husband’s death. This village is cursed, and people also say that there are demons living in trees! Suddenly, girls start going missing, and Ambika finds herself fighting weird supernatural stuff to protect Shweta. Things get intense when Ambika transforms into goddess Kali, ready to battle the evil behind the curse. It’s a wild story of a brave mom, creepy legends, and a fight between good and evil.
Kajol leads as Ambika, with Kherin Sharma as her daughter Shweta. Indraneil Sengupta plays Ambika’s husband. Ronit Roy and Jitin Gulati appear in important roles, alongside Roopkatha Chakraborty, Surjyasikha Das, and Vibha Rani.
OTT Release
Usally movies appeare on online streaming platforms after 45-60 days of release. Maa is also expected to come in a same timeframe. Reportedly, it will be streaming on Netflix. However, no specific dates have been announced.
Ratings of Maa on Different Platforms
As of 17th July 2025, the movie has a 6.7 rating out of 10, with more than 16K reviews. On the other hand, it secured a 7.2 rating out of 10 at online ticket booking platform BookMyShow with more than 20.5K votes.
