Salman Khan’s new movie Sikander’s advance bookings began today, March 26th. The movie tracker Sachnilk reported that Sikander already earned 1.92 crores at the box office. The advance bookings of Sikander are close to Mollywood’s latest L2: Empuraan, which is releasing tomorrow. This may result in a box office clash.
Earlier this week, movie critics and reports predicted that the advance bookings and first-day earnings may cross 40 crores, breaking Deva’s record. The prediction may come true because Sikander is already close to 2 crores before the end of opening day afternoon.
Sikander First Day Advance Booking
Sachnilk reported that the film has sold approximately 67,293 tickets across India; the highest number recorded was for 2D shows. A stunning 1.91 crores were from 2D shows, while IMAX 2D shows generated Rs. 45,778 worth of tickets. Sikander will screen in more than 9000 theatres. The theatres will likely have a full house in the initial theatrical days.
In Maharashtra, approximately 1.24 crores worth of tickets were bought, and Delhi stands in second place with 1.11 crores. Fans in Rajasthan occupied seats worth Rs 51.08 lakh, while Gujarat bought Rs. 49.94 lakhs and Karnataka Rs. 28.82 lakh.
PVR INOX Ltd CEO of Revenue & Operations, Mr. Gautam Dutta, said Salman Khan’s movies are always grand celebrations. Sikander brings add-ons like emotions and an inspiring story to the mix. He noted that Sikander is another milestone in Rashmika Mandanna’s career, whose streak seems unstoppable. He said Sikander would bring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna’s fans great joy.
Sikander and L2: Empuraan Advance Bookings Clash
The advance bookings of Sukumaran’s new film L2: Empuraan, the second part of the Lucifer trilogy, took off with bullet speed. The movie soon created a record for Mollywood’s highest-ever pre-release performer. The movie is releasing tomorrow, March 27th, and it may go head-to-head with Sikander’s box office.
Regarding this possibility, Sukumaran said that he hoped Sikander would be a blockbuster and wished Salman Khan the best of luck. He added, “I will have no complaints if you watch L2: Empuraan at 11 a.m. and Sikandar at 1 p.m.”
