Produced by Maddock Films and directed by Lakshman Utekar, Chhaava is Bollywood’s latest historical movie. It shows the war that ensued after the death of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. His son, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, is at the center of the film.
Total Box Office Collection
Chhaava was released on 14th February, and after 13 days in the theatres, the movie earned a little over ₹0.26 Cr. The net total is estimated to reach ₹365 Crores soon; currently, the number stands at ₹363.46 crores. The worldwide collection, however, is advancing at a steady pace to get the 500 crore mark. As reported by Sachnik yesterday, Chhaava has already earned ₹465 crores worldwide.

Will Chhava make it to the 400-crore mark?
Until a few days ago, fans anticipated seeing Chhaava earn 400 crores. But the recent allegations about the inaccuracies left them wondering if 400 crores is possible. Descendants of the Shirke family threatened a 100 crore lawsuit and street protests if director Lakshman Utekar didn’t rectify the mistakes in the film. The director hasn’t confirmed his plans to remake parts of the film but has apologized to the family. He stated that he didn’t mean to be offensive and that the movie doesn’t mention a surname.

The Story of Chhaava
Chhaava unfolds the story and roles of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj (Vicky Kaushal) and his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale (Rashmika Mandanna), in the war that begins in the wake of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja’s death. We see Aurangzeb (Akshaye Khanna) leading the Mughal side of the war. Chhaava also has Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta and, Diana Penty playing key roles.
