What people think of Chhaava
The cinematographic depiction of this piece of history has been moving its audience to tears all over the country, and Chhava has no intentions of stopping any time soon. Although it was India Vs Pakistan on Sunday, the 23rd of February, theatres nationwide had people eagerly waiting in line. With such reactions from the public, Chhava is sure to rise and be one of the best films of 2025.
It was praised by Taran Adarsh, a trade analyst. He shared on his X account that Chhaava is “SPECTACULAR.” He rated it 4.5 stars and lauded it further by saying, “(The movie) Blends history, emotions, passion, patriotism, and action with finesse…”
While most of the fans and critics applauded the direction, story, and acting- a few found it mediocre. They felt the story could have been filmed better. Movie lovers were seen discussing Chhaava on public platforms such as Reddit, and people critiqued that though Vicky Kaushal’s performance was riveting and the screenplay was solid, “the story moves at a rapid pace,” leading to “some confusion with respect to sticking to the series of events as they unfolded.” Similar sentiments were shared on Rotten Tomatoes when critics called the movie “tiresome” and “(an) exhausting blur.” A few felt that the violence and brutality could have been toned down, and conveying a message should have been prioritised over shouting and yelling. Regardless of the negative remarks, fans and movie-goers are ensuring that the positive opinions overpower.
From a broader perspective, Chhaava remains a one-of-a-kind, must-watch film that will probably reach the 400 crore mark soon and will remain a story that deserves to be told.
