Tata Motors Boosts Sales with New Model Launches

TATA Punch: TATA Motors has emerged as the third best-selling automaker in September 2024, achieving a remarkable 14 percent year-on-year growth in sales. The company sold 50,105 units in September 2024, up from 44,047 units in the same month last year. This increase is attributed to their diverse range of offerings and a strong electric vehicle lineup. However, there was a slight month-on-month decline of 2%, as sales dipped from 51,270 units in August 2024.

TATA Punch: Leading the Pack

The TATA Punch not only topped the sales chart within the TATA lineup but also claimed the title of the best-selling car in India for September 2024. It comfortably surpassed competitors such as the Hyundai Creta and Maruti WagonR by substantial margins. In addition to the Punch, the TATA Tiago and TATA Altroz were also featured in the top 25 best-selling cars for the month.

The Punch experienced a staggering 61 percent growth in year-on-year sales, with 17,547 units sold, compared to 10,894 units in September 2023. This represents a small month-on-month decrease of 5 percent, down from 18,438 units sold in August 2024. Notably, TATA Motors introduced new variants of the Punch and discontinued others, keeping the product line fresh and appealing. Earlier this year, TATA launched the new Punch EV, with a price range between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

This marked a notable 55 percent increase from 3,862 units sold in September 2023 and a robust 31 percent increase from August 2024. One of the Altrozโ€™s standout features is its 5-star crash safety rating, making it a preferred choice among safety-conscious buyers. As the only hatchback in India offering petrol, diesel, and CNG options, it competes effectively with well-known models like the Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20.

Challenges for Harrier and Tigor

The TATA Harrier and Safari models faced challenges in sales as well. Safari experienced a 20 percent decline both year-on-year and month-on-month, with only 2,054 units sold. With its expanding electric vehicle lineup and strategic product updates, TATA Motors is on a solid growth trajectory moving forward.
