His determination to deliver exceptional performances remains unwavering.

A Journey of Resilience

In an exclusive interview with News18, Mithun shared his emotional response to receiving this esteemed accolade. The seasoned actor recalled the days when he had to rely on the kindness of strangers, saying, “I still remember how I once slept on the footpath of Mumbai. I had to fight for everything. A Reflection on His Career

Looking back, Mithun reflected on his path from performing in low-budget films to achieving significant milestones. “Initially, I worked in C-grade films and then moved to B-grade. Passion and the struggle for art have always been my weapons,” he added, underlining his deep-seated dedication to acting.

Political Recognition and Respect

Mithun also expressed admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom he described as a remarkable leader. “I have met him many times. If he wishes me well, I send my ‘pranam’,” he said, highlighting a mutual respect that transcends politics. Additionally, he fondly recalled the encouragement he received from notable politicians like Pranab Mukherjee and Mamata Banerjee, acknowledging their roles in his journey.

Staying True to His Craft

When asked about rumors linking his award to his affiliation with the BJP, Mithun firmly stated, “I will not say anything. I have never taken any favor from anyone and will not do so in the future.” His commitment to separating his movie career from his political affiliations reflects his desire to be acknowledged solely for his artistic contributions.

Addressing Social Issues

In light of recent social issues in Bengal surrounding crime, Mithun emphasized the need for justice, declaring, “There must be justice. This is such a heinous crime.” His words resonate as a call for societal accountability and compassion amidst troubling times.
