CBSE Exams to Be Monitored by CCTV: New Security Measure Announced

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to enhance the integrity and security of the upcoming board examinations by implementing mandatory surveillance measures. Following the example of the Uttar Pradesh Board, CBSE has issued a directive stating that all examination halls must be equipped with CCTV cameras. This decision aims to maintain the sanctity of the examination process and ensure a fair testing environment for all students.

CBSE Board Exams 2025: Examination Dates

The CBSE board examinations for classes 10 and 12 are scheduled to commence on February 15, 2025. This formal announcement has raised anticipation among the approximately 44 lakh students expected to participate across the nation. CCTV Surveillance Implementation

In a detailed communication sent to school principals and heads of educational institutions, CBSE has laid down strict guidelines regarding the installation of CCTV cameras. Each examination room must be fitted with high-resolution cameras capable of dynamic monitoring features, including pan, tilt, and zoom functionalities. This will allow for comprehensive surveillance to ensure that no unfair methods are employed during examinations.

Schools failing to install the required surveillance equipment will not be recognized as valid examination venues for students. The recordings captured during the exams will be retained for a minimum of two months following the announcement of the results, with access restricted to authorized personnel only. This measure aims to safeguard the interests of all stakeholders involved in the examination process.

Preparation for Examination

As students gear up for the CBSE Board exams, it is vital for schools to comply with these new regulations. High-quality cameras must be operational to facilitate effective monitoring and to foster an atmosphere of trust among students and parents. CBSE’s move to ensure a transparent examination process is commendable and reflects a commitment to academic integrity.

Expected Release of Date Sheet

The official date sheet for the 2025 board examinations is anticipated to be released in December, according to local media reports. Alongside it, arrangements for practical examinations will be announced separately, providing students with ample time to prepare both theoretically and practically. Candidates are encouraged to stay updated and regularly visit the official CBSE website for the latest announcements and resources.

This new surveillance policy, along with the specified examination timelines, aims to create a level playing field for all examinees and uphold the standards of education in the country.
