Shocking Incident in Madhya Pradesh: Young Army Officers Targeted

MP News: A deeply distressing incident has surfaced from Madhya Pradesh, where two young army officers and their female friends fell victim to a heinous crime in Indore district. Late on the night of September 10, these individuals were enjoying a picnic when they were violently attacked by a group of armed miscreants. Tragically, one of the women was gang-raped at gunpoint, while both army officers were subjected to physical assault. The attackers demanded a ransom of INR 10 lakh while holding one of the officers hostage.

Details of the Attack

According to police reports, the officers, aged 23 and 24, were in Mhow cantonment for training under the Young Officers Syllabus when the incident occurred. Around 2 AM, seven unidentified assailants approached the picnic site on the Mhow-Mandleshwar road, where they violently assaulted the group, specifically targeting the officers and the women.

Rescue Operation and Medical Examination

   

One of the officers, who had stepped away from the vehicle momentarily, managed to alert senior officers about the ongoing attack, prompting a swift police response. Unfortunately, by the time law enforcement arrived, the assailants had fled the scene. The victims were subsequently taken to Mhow Civil Hospital at approximately 6:30 AM for medical assessment. Medical examinations confirmed the presence of injuries on the officers’ bodies, and it was revealed that one of the women had been sexually assaulted.

Investigation Underway

Indore Rural SP Hitika Vasal confirmed that the police have registered a case under various sections regarding robbery, dacoity, rape, and violations of the Arms Act. A multi-police station task force has been initiated to locate the culprits. As of now, two suspects have been detained, and a search has expanded to include six other identified assailants who remain at large. The investigation is actively being pursued, with senior officials including SP Vasal and Additional SP Rupesh Dwivedi leading the efforts in Manpur until the remaining suspects are apprehended.

Authorities are ensuring that the victims receive the necessary medical and psychological support following this traumatic event. It is reported that the victimized woman has yet to record her statement, which is crucial for the ongoing investigation.
