Today, on March 21st 2025, the Hindustan Construction Company or HCC Share Price witnessed its share value spike by almost 10%. The surge began after it announced a joint venture with Tata Power, which awarded a project worth Rs. 2,470 crores.
The contract entails the construction of the Bhivpuri Off-Stream Open-Loop Pumped Storage Project (PSP) with 1,000 MW capacity, located at Karjat, Maharashtra. The work includes building civil and hydro-mechanical components like:
- A coffer dam and intake structure with gates and screens at the Thokarwadi reservoir.
- Head race tunnels, penstock, surge shaft, and pressure shaft.
- A powerhouse and tail race tunnel.
- Lower intake structures with gates and screens.
- A new lower reservoir with a GFRD dam.
- Access tunnels (adits), roads, drainage systems, and foundation/building structures for various supporting systems (BOP).
The HCC shares opened to the market at Rs. 25.24 and are currently up by 6% compared to the opening bell rates and by 9% compared to the previous close of 24.98.

At 11:25 a.m., HCC traded its shares for Rs. 27.43, nearly 8% higher than the opening rate. And 10% higher than its previous close. According to the reports and estimates on Money Control, the current market capitalisation shows 4,992 cores; the UC Limit is 29.49, and the LC Limit is 19.66.
Company Financials
For the third quarter of FY 2024-25, HCC reported a revenue of Rs. 1,006.8 crore. And a net loss of Rs. 38.92 crore, compared to a net profit of Rs. 233 crore in the third quarter of the previous year. This loss is primarily due to the changes in the tax regime. As of December 31st, 2024, HCC’s order book reported Rs. 9,758 crore.
