Nani’s new film The Paradise dropped the teaser today, and the 100-second-long video shows nothing yet everything about the film. Nani is one of the few actors in Tollywood whose pictures guarantee a never-before experience. His movies constantly find ways to set and break news standards for Tollywood, and The Paradise is following that tradition.

The teaser of the film stirs up eerie vibes and goosebumps from the first glimpse; the darkness of the screen, coupled with Anirudh’s ominous music, compels you to give all your attention. The movie is set in the forgotten era of Secunderabad. The voice-over in the teaser sets the story in place for us. She says it’s a story of the neglected and ignored species of birds- the crows. The scavengerous and flesh-eating nature of the crows provides a context for the characters in the story. The woman speaking says that ‘The Paradise’ is the story of how her son became the leader of his tribe. And how he influenced the overlooked and discriminated species of crows to pick up swords.
Nani’s two-braided hair and shirtless body appear in the teaser, taking the audience by a gasp. But Sonali Kulkarni, the female protagonist, is still behind the curtain. Viewers have to wait for the trailer for her first glimpse of the film.
Another element that shocked the viewers was his tattoo that read “son of a b***h” (in Telugu). These elements emphasise the rawness of the film, the story, and the language. Through this teaser, the makers send the message that the film may not be for the soft-spoken. And that it is catered to the audience that can separate the violence (verbal and physical) from the story.
Nani’s career has taken a violent turn, with Saripoda Shanivaaram and Hit: Third Case being “bloody,” and the upcoming The Paradise being “Raw.”

The Paradise is another film in Srikanth Odela and Nani’s combination. Their first film, Dasara, which was written and directed by Srikanth took the Telugu audience by storm. Dasara delivered a niche and an exciting plot set in gritty parts of a village. With The Paradise teaser, fans seem to get the hang of Srikanth Odela’s trademark. People loved Nani’s look and character in Dasara, and Srikanth took it as a challenge to do better. His vision for Nani’s appearance in The Paradise is still suspense, at least for now.
