MG Motor Launches the Windsor EV: A Game Changer in Electric Crossovers

With the recent arrival of MG Motor’s Windsor EV in dealerships across the country, electric vehicle enthusiasts have a new reason to be excited. This sleek electric crossover, launched earlier this month, has commenced test drives, allowing potential buyers to experience its innovative features and impressive capabilities firsthand.

Pricing and Battery Subscription Options

The Windsor EV offers a flexible pricing structure, starting at Rs 9.99 lakh for those opting for a battery subscription model. In this plan, customers will incur a cost of Rs 3.5 per kilometer driven. For buyers preferring to purchase the vehicle without a battery subscription, prices range from Rs 13.49 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the Windsor EV will open on October 3, with deliveries scheduled to commence on October 12.

Design and Variants

This crossover utility vehicle seamlessly combines the comfort of a sedan with the dynamic performance qualities of a motorcycle. The Windsor EV is available in three distinct variants: Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. Its aesthetically pleasing design features connected LED lights at both the front and rear, complemented by 18-inch alloy wheels optimized for better aerodynamics. The MG logo, prominently displayed below the connected LED DRL strip, adds a touch of sophistication. The vehicle is offered in four vibrant colors: Pearl White, Clay Beige, Turquoise Green, and Starburst Black.

Interior Features and Technology

The Windsor EV’s cabin is thoughtfully crafted, prioritizing both luxury and advanced technology. The interior boasts black leatherette seats and a stylish flat-bottom steering wheel, also wrapped in leatherette. A standout feature on the dashboard is the impressive 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, paired with an 8.8-inch digital display for the driver, ensuring that all essential vehicle information is easily accessible. Additional comfort features include automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, a powered driver’s seat, and a panoramic glass roof, making every drive a pleasurable experience.

Performance and Range

Under the hood, the Windsor EV is powered by a robust 38 kWh battery that delivers an impressive 136 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. This electric crossover offers a range of approximately 331 kilometers on a single charge, making it a practical choice for daily use. Additionally, early customers will benefit from a full warranty on the battery, ensuring peace of mind with their investment.

Conclusion

In a bid to make electric mobility more accessible, MG Motor’s introduction of battery rental options significantly lowers the entry price for electric vehicles. With innovative design, smart technology, and competitive pricing, the Windsor EV stands poised to compete with established rivals like the Mahindra XUV400 and Tata Motors’ Nexon EV. The Windsor EV not only represents a leap forward in electric vehicle offerings but also enhances consumer choice in the growing EV market.
