Company Financials
ITC remains a financial powerhouse in the Indian FMCG and cigarette sector. For the quarter ending March 2025, ITC posted a net profit of Rs 4,874 crore, which is up 0.8% year-on-year. Revenue from operations also grew 9.6% to Rs 17,248 crore. Despite these solid numbers, the company’s shares have seen a decline of about 10.8% so far in 2025, partly due to global investor activity and sectoral headwinds.
Recent News About ITC
This is BAT’s second major stake sale in ITC in recent years. Last year, BAT sold 3.5% of its holding for about Rs 16,690 crore in one of India’s largest block deals. After the latest sale, BAT’s stake in ITC will reduce from 25.4% to roughly 23.1%, but it will remain the largest single shareholder.
BAT has stated that the funds from this sale will be used to reduce debt and support its global share buyback programme. BAT’s CEO, Tadeu Marroco, emphasized ITC’s strategic importance, calling it a “valued associate” in a high-growth market.

Though different analysts have multiple targets for the ITC Share Price, S&P Global Market Intelligence has given a target of Rs 501.55 on average. Morgan Stanley and Citi have suggested Rs 580.69 by the end of 2025. Also, Consensus analysts suggest Rs 500.53 by the end of 2025.
Recommendation on Buy or Sell
As per the moneycontrol website, 59% of the analysts suggest a buy for ITC Shares. The rest 3% suggest hold, and 35% suggest the stock might outperform. Also, Consensus Analyst suggests buying these shares.
