Kesari Chapter 2 is off to a slow start. Though it was released nationwide on a holiday, the historical thriller only earned 7 Crores on its opening day. After witnessing the bookings soar high, the actual box office numbers fall short of expectations. Hopefully, the weekend will fare better for the movie and give Kesari 2 the push it needs to accelerate.

According to Sachnilk, Kesari 2 gathered 0.01 Cr since this morning, bringing the total to Rs. 7.51 Crores. Kesari 2 was reportedly made on a budget of 100 Crores and was primarily shot in Mumbai, where a large set of Jallianwala Bagh was constructed. The shoot locations also include Rewari Junction railway station and Rewari Railway Heritage Museum in Rewari, Haryana, IIT Roorkee, and other prominent places in Delhi and Maharashtra.

About Kesari 2: Story And Cast
Kesari 2 is centred on the struggles of the lawyer, C. Sankaran Nair, who aimed to show people the reality of the cruel British Rule. The story begins when British rule claims the Jallianwala Bagh massacre didn’t take place. Sankaran Nair’s anger on behalf of the country sets events of Kesari 2 in motion, ending in the courtroom with powerful dialogues that put the colonisers to shame.
The movie is based on a book,’ The Case That Shook the Empire’ by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and supported by Dharma Productions, the film hosts the talented actors Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, who plays the lawyer that defends the British; Ananya Panday, who adds a modern touch to the film; Regina Cassandra, Simon Paisley Day, and Alexx O’Nell play key supporting roles.
