Storyline
‘Kesari Chapter 2’ tells us about the story of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre which happened back in 1919. The movie is inspired by Inspired by The Case That Shook the Empire book by C. Sankaran Nair’s grandson Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat.
Cast and Budget
In ‘Kesari 2’ Akshay Kumar can be seen in C. Sankaran Nair’s role. On the opposite side, R. Madhavan, Neville McKinley, can be seen as a British lawyer. Apart from them, Ananya Pandey, Simon Paisley Day, Regina Cassandra, and Alexx O’Nell can be seen in important roles.
As per reports, the movie was made with a budget of Rs 150 Crores. Where Akshay Kumar reportedly took between Rs 60 to Rs 145 crores and also shared profits with the film.
Competition at the Box Office
Although Kesari 2 is performing well even after 15 days of release. The movie is currently facing competition as Ajay Devgn’s most anticipated movie, Raid 2, has been released. There are some more releases like Suriya’s Retro and Emraan Hashmi’s Ground Zero, all these releases are affecting Kesari Chapter 2’s revenue.
OTT Release Date
The movie will release on the OTT platform Jio Star (Hotstar). It is expected to release on 20th June. As per reports the movie’s digital streaming rights were sold to Jio Hotstar for Rs 105 crores.
Rating on Different Platforms
As of today, 3rd May 2025, Kesari Chapter 2 has 8.4 stars out of 10 on the IMDb platform with more than 5.3K reviews. Also on Book My Show it has a solid 9.3 stars out of 10 with more than 49K reviews. This shows the audience is very much liking the movie.
