Sunny Deol’s latest action movie, Jaat, has been entertaining theatres since 10th April. The movie’s total collection stands at 57 Crores against its budget of 100 crores. Directed by Telugu director Gopichand Malineni, Jaat was awaited eagerly, and it received a huge uproar as it marked Sunny Deol’s return to the big screen after Gadar 2. The excitement, however, is fading away, as evidenced by the declining box office collections.

Jaat Day Wise Box Office Collection

  • Day 1 – ₹ 9.5 Cr
  • Day 2- ₹ 7 Cr
  • Day 3- ₹ 9.75 Cr
  • Day 4- ₹ 14 Cr
  • Day 5- ₹ 7.25 Cr
  • Day 6- ₹ 6 Cr
  • Day 7- ₹ 3.81 Cr
  • Day 8- ₹ 0.01 Cr
  • Total- ₹ 57.32 Cr

Jaat experienced a drop in collection on its 3rd theatrical day. However, the following long weekend elevated the audience and boosted the film’s earnings. The momentum of the weekend was temporary, as collections descended from Monday, day 5. Yesterday, on day 7, Jaat had gathered 3.81 Crores.

Today, according to Sachnilk, the movie earned 0.01 Cr (Subject to change as the day progresses). Jaat is yet to recover its budget of 100 crores, and though that is the hope, it may be impossible. Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2 will soon hit the theatres, and the advance booking has already begun. People are holding spots and marking their calendars to watch Akshay Kumar as a freedom fighter-lawyer. Considering such factors, the odds of Jaat’s collections further dipping are high.

About Jaat: Cast and Story

Written and directed by Gopichand Mileni, Jaat was produced by TG Vishwa Prasad, Naveen Yerneni, and Y. Ravi Shankar, backed by Mythri Movie Makers, People Media Factory, and Zee Studios.

Besides Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda, Jaat stars Regina Cassandra, Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, Ramya Krishnan, and Jagapathi Babu, who play defining roles in the movie.

Jaat tells the story of a hero who is compassionate, impatient with societal evils, and a problem solver of every kind. When Bhaskar Singh passes by a coastal village in Visakhapatnam, he is taken aback by the living conditions and the atrocities people endure under the corrupt politician Ranatunga. Angered by injustice, he takes on Ranatunga and fights for the freedom of the village.
