Your wait for Google Pixel 9a just got a lot shorter. It’s rumoured that the new A phone will break tradition and launch much earlier than May. Google’s A series was a fan favourite for its flagship features, build and specs. Last year’s Pixel 8a immediately won people over, and this year’s new launch, the Pixel 9a, is determined to maintain its reputation.
What is so good about Google Pixel 9a?
The wow factor of the Pixel 9a is its processor, the Tensor G4 chip. This processor is being called the brain of the Pixel 9a. Google created this chip in collaboration with DeepMind. Google Pixel 9a Build
At first glance, you will notice that the Pixel 9a does not have a visor-like island around its camera. The back of the phone will look comparatively smoother than 8a, emphasising the aesthetic look. The camera on Pixel 9a will sit much flatter on the phone. The screen size has improved, too. The 9a offers a 6.3-inch OLED display, measuring 154 x 73.3 x 8.9mm, against the 8a’s 6.1 inch. The stylish new phone will launch in four colours- Obsidian (black), Porcelain (white), Iris (blue) and Peony (pink).
The display, protected by Gorilla Glass 3, offers an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and rising a little higher than 8a, 9a will reach 2,700 nits of peak brightness. 7000 nits more than last year’s 8a. Pixel 9s is expected to have Android 15 out of the box.
Processor
The ‘brain’ of 9a, the Tensor G4 chip, is reportedly coupled with Google’s Titan M2 security chip to amplify the phone’s security.

Google Pixel 9a Price & Availability
Pixel 9a is expected to launch within ₹ 60,000; the base variant may have 128GB and 8GB RAM. Comparatively, Pixel 8a was launched for ₹52,999, its base variant was 128GB. According to leaks, Pixel 9a will launch on March 19th, 2025. The phone may hit sales on March 26th.
