Over the last long weekend (Days 9, 10, and 11), the movie saw a rise in earnings. The week before, Ajith Kumar’s film began to witness a drop in the collection from 15 Crores on Monday to 7 Crores on Tuesday; as the gradual decline persisted, the first week ended with 119 Crores in the bag. The following week started at a decent figure of 5 Crores, increasing to 6 and 6.8 Crores on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The following Monday displayed disappointing results, but it doesn’t take away from Good Bad Ugly’s achievement of 141 Crores from domestic theatres.
Although AK’s fans are spread worldwide, many critics say that the Tamil audience keeps the movie alive in theatres, as the state accounts for the highest occupancy rates. It looks like fans are not ready to part with the elements of the film- the story, AK’s charm, Trisha’s grace, and pure fan dedication sprinkled and hidden in multiple dialogues and scenes across the film. It is a rare event for a fan to enjoy the nostalgia of their favourite actor’s past works and to relive their fandom journey on a big screen. Ajith Kumar’s fan base’s reaction to Good Bad Ugly makes it worth ignoring the mixed reviews. It remains a question of how far Good Bad Ugly can ride its fan wave and if it will take the movie as far as 150 Crores.
