Storyline
Chhaava movie is based on the Marathi novel Chatrapati Shivaji Sawant, It tells the story of Sambhaji Maharaj. It tells us about the untold part of history of the Maratha Empire. Shivaji’s death sparked the Maratha-Mughal conflict. Then his son sambhaji became the resistance against Aurangzeb’s force. Then the battle for power started.

PM Modi praised the cast and their amazing performance in the movie on the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan. He said, ‘Ye Maharastra aur Mumbai hi hai jisne Marathi filmonke saath hindi cinema ko ye unchaai di hai’.
There is also a Rs 100 cr lawsuit against this movie. Deepak Raje Shirke, a descendant sent Lakshman Utekar legal notice and demanded correction of some inaccuracies in the film. Because it’s hurting family’s reputation and entire nation thinks of them as traitors who act resulting in the capture of Sambhaji by Aurangzeb.
